Burgess Hill

Burgess Hill is a town located in the Mid Sussex district of West Sussex, close to the border with East Sussex and on the edge of the South Downs National Park. It's approximately 39 miles from London, 10 miles from Brighton and Hove and 29 miles from Chichester. Two mainland stations (Burgess Hill and Wivelsfield) provide frequent and fast services to London and Gatwick Airport is a short drive away. The town has two shopping centres, the Market Place and the Martlets as well as a good selection of shops including an Argos, New Look and Cookshop. To keep you entertained try out some of the live music and small theatre events (Martlets Hall), even the small 2 screen cinema. Whether you want an evening meal, Sunday lunch or to grab a quick coffee while you're out and about, there is something for everyone. The Triangle Leisure Centre offers indoor/outdoor rapids and flumes including soft play and if you're a fan of the outdoors, then there is always The Burgess Hill golf centre, several local nature reserves and the South Downs National Park.

Haywards Heath

Within close proximity to Burgess Hill lies the town of Haywards Heath. Other nearby towns include Horsham, Crawley and East Grinstead. The Haywards Heath railway operates a number of services to London Victoria, East Croydon, Gatwick Airport, London Bridge and Brighton. Haywards Heath provides many local attractions, culture and facilities, which include: The Orchards Shopping Centre, bars, restaurants, Haywards Heath Leisure Centre, Victoria Park, Beech Hurst and Borde Hill Gardens, Princess Royal Hospital including "Town Day" which is celebrated in early September each year, including fireworks in the evening at Victoria Park. The town is also home to a state school and a couple of private schools.

Crawley

Crawley is a large town about 20 minutes from Burgess Hill and lies in the Weald between the North and South Downs. It is surrounded by smaller towns including Horley, Redhill, Reigate, Dorking, Horsham, Haywards Heath and East Grinstead. Regular train services run from Crawley and there are local bus services between the neighbourhoods and town centre. Each neighbourhood in the town has at least one Primary school, while Secondary schools are distributed around the town on larger campuses. There is a large Cineworld cinema in the Crawley Leisure Park, which also includes ten-pin bowling, various restaurants and bars and a fitness centre. The County Mall shopping centre provides many popular high street names and there are weekly markets in the High Street.

Hassocks

Hassocks is a large village, nestled at the foot of the South Downs, it's name is believed to derive from the tufts of grass found in the surrounding fields. Hassocks has a mixture of shops that range from restaurants and coffee shops to gift, clothing and furniture shops. The village also benefits from having a well-used community centre which is used for a wide range of community and private events. If you want to get social then there are a number of clubs to join that range from an archery and ramblers club, to dance, bridge, tennis and jazz. The mainline station has fast and frequent services to London and the South Coast.

Lewes

Lewes is the county town of East Sussex and is about 30 minutes from Burgess Hill. The town is the location of several significant historic buildings, including Lewes Castle. A distinctive feature of the centre of Lewes is the network of alleyways or 'twittens' which run north-south on either side of the High Street and date back to Anglo-Saxon times. A few miles out of Lewes is the Glyndebourne opera house which draws large audiences for its Summer Festival. A new independent three-screen cinema, the Lewes Depot, opened in May 2017. Popular music gigs take place at a number of venues and pubs across the town. There are many primary schools and two secondary schools in the town and one nearby. The town also enjoys hourly fast trains from London.

Brighton

Brighton is a seaside resort situated on the south coast and it's location has made it a popular destination for tourists and it's also renowned for its diverse communities, quirky shopping areas, large cultural, music and arts scene. There is something for everybody in Brighton including museums, theatres, festivals and rallies, cafes and restaurants and plenty of nightlife hotspots. Brighton is home to some famous landmarks which include The Royal Pavilion, a Grade I listed building, which is a former royal palace built as a home for the Prince Regent during the early 19th century and the Brighton Marine Palace and Pier (opened in 1899) features a funfair, restaurants and arcade halls. Brighton has several railway stations, many bus routes, coach services and taxis.

The Seven Sisters

The Seven Sisters is a series of chalk cliffs by the English Channel. They form part of the South Downs in East Sussex, between the towns of Seaford and Eastbourne in southern England. They are within the South Downs National Park which is bounded by the coast, the Cuckmere and the A259 road. They are the remnants of dry valleys in the chalk South Downs, which are gradually being eroded by the sea.

Long Man Of Wilmington

The Long Man of Wilmington or Wilmington Giant is a hill figure on the steep slopes of Windover Hill near Wilmington, East Sussex, England. Locally, the figure was once often called the "Green Man". The Long Man is 235 feet (72 m) tall, holds two "staves", and is designed to look in proportion when viewed from below.
